OMGWTFBBQ HUGE STORM!!!!!!!!!

Hey all, you will never guess what happened. I m resting in bed in the middle of the night, when I hear this massive KABOOM! I look outside an dit looks like friken huricane katrina came back for more! There's things blowing all over the place trees being knocked over and the locals are hanging onto the trees yeling "WE LOVE IT HERE!" (Just kidding). So we figure it would be smart to unplug some things from the wall. An djust as we go over to do just that, the power goes out!
so we finish unplugging things and head back to bed. I wake up the next morning and guess what? It turns out that practically the whole town lost power, and they still haven't got it back! The good news, the chaos resulted in a day off from school, the bad news, we had no power for quite a while. As I'm writing this meesage, it must mean that we managed to get power back, otherwise I wouldn't have internet access though, so all's well that ends well I guess. We've got power and it seems that all of my friends are free, so tody will turn out okay after all. Even so, my friend Ross actually got to watch the power go out. He saw a tree cut the lines, and a bolt of lightning nearly hit his house! Things are pretty nasty right now, but we did manage to save the food in the fridge. That's all for now.

  1. Yo Bro from another Mo. Love the blog. Keep posting. It becomes a habit and pretty soon you'll have a year's worth of writing built up and you can pretty much call yourself a writer. A writer is someone who writes regularly. Just like a jogger jogs. Your blog is also becoming sort of a journal. I liked the photos you put up. Taking pictures and writing about them is how I build some good blog posts on Nohodome. It gets me started and jump starts my ability to write about real things that happened and remember what my initial reaction was when they happened. This makes for the best posts. Do you have a digital camera?

This is a quote I read recently that I feel sums up my philosophy about my blog and my life as a writer and I thought it might make sense to you, at least some of it. "Writing down your thoughts is both necessary and harmful. It leads to eccentricity, narcissism, preserves what should be let go. On the other hand these notes intensify the inner life, which left unexpressed, slips through your fingers. If I could only find a better kind of journal, humbler, one that would preserve the same thoughts, the same flesh of life, which is worth saving. Moreover the writer invents himself as a character in this form. He shapes himself from the shards of the everyday, from the truth of that daily life. Which is also a truth not to be scorned."

In other words, writing helps you invent yourself and reinvent yourself again and again. It's also a place to capture those handful of thoughts you have every day that make yoy say, hey, that's a cool thought, I should try to remember that. In the old days I tried to keep a journal but it never worked because I realized I really wanted people to read it....and walking up to people and saying, hey dude, wanna read my journal seemed pretty uncool. A blog is now a perfect excuse for guys like us who crave attention and validation! Thank goodness for the internet.Anyway, blah blah blah. The first line of your novel is great. Talk about drawing people in! I'm going to print it as you suggest and read the second line.
